On Sunday Mar 5th the W&M Cycling team will host the 2017 W&M Colonial Criterium. The course for the morning revolves around the Kaplan Arena. To create the course it will be necessary to close the following areas to traffic. The segment of Brooks St from Ukrop Way to Compton Ave, the segment of Ukrop Way from Brooks St to McClurg, and the portion of Compton Ave from Ukrop Way to Brooks St. Inbound traffic along Yates Dr will not be able to go past the Triangle. The closure will be in effect from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm.
W&M Police and RMC Staff will be onsite to facilitate vehicular movement and departures during the race event. Drivers must follow all posted signage and the instructions of race volunteers, RMC lot staff, and Officers at all times.
Vehicles parked in the upper and smaller portion of the Kaplan Arena lot as well as the Compton Lot will not be able to exit during the active periods of the race. The lower and larger end of the lot remains open and accessible from Richmond Rd and Brooks St. For times see the downloadble file below.
Compton Ave from Brooks St to Monticello will remain open however, inbound traffic will be diverted out along Brooks St to Richmond Rd to go around campus. Click Here for a downloadable (pdf) version of the course map and race timetable.
